The practical significance of the study is seen in the possibility of the right to use the materials of the work in the practice of studying and teaching English, in the development of lecture courses on lexicology and phraseology, in the preparation of the topics of term papers and theses, in special seminars and special courses; in addition, the research materials can be used in the preparation of textbooks for their academic lyceums, vocational colleges and other educational institutions.
The scientific novelty of the dissertation lies in the fact that it is the first experience of studying the patterns of semantics and structure of English phraseological units, considered on the basis of linguoculturological, psycholinguistic and linguistic approaches proper, which allow to characterize the microsystem deeply, objectively and comprehensively.
For the first time, conceptual features were established, on the basis of which the distribution of the studied phraseological units into conceptual groups and subgroups was made. Essential in this distribution was the consideration of phraseological units from the standpoint of the trinity "the real world - human consciousness - language". With the conceptual approach, the main criterion was a multi-stage analysis of the phraseological units under study, the archiseme, integral and differential keywords (descriptors) were identified, allowing semes to argue the attribution of phraseological units selected from dictionaries to this phraseosystem.
The dissertation for the first time revealed structural models reflecting the component composition, morphological structure, the method of syntactic communication, the position of dependent word forms, the type of relations between the components of stable units. It is established that, having a certain set of structural properties, the studied phraseological units can be substantive, verbal, adjectival with different phraseoactivity and productivity. The emphasis is placed on the characteristic of the specifics of two-, three-, four-, five-, six-component phraseological units and their features uses in speech. At the same time, special attention is paid to the valence of the core component of the structural model under study.
The new one is myself the methodology of the study of English phraseological units with the meaning of the emotional state of a person, when a systematic approach to linguistic units is applied, from the standpoint of reflecting in them the culture of the people, the originality of mentality, the universal and national experience of the people, which is determined in the concepts. At the same time, the description of the uniqueness of all phraseological units is carried out taking into account the specifics of their relationships in the phraseosystem, where special attention is paid to synonymous and antonymic connections of stable units.
