Annotation:
This article about productive and receptive skills. Why these two skills aspects 
important and deals with problems and their solution of teaching productive and receptive skills in 
English.

The process of learning English is inactive and progressive and it could be clarified number of 
challenges to face. This process consists of evolution certain skills. When we learn a language there 
are four skills that we need to entire communication. When we learn our native language we usually 
learn to listen first, then speak, then to read, and finally to write. These are called the four “Language 
Skills”.
According to this, these four language skills also separate to as the Productive and Receptive. 
Reading and listening are known as the receptive, speaking and writing are known as the productive 
skills. In preference, you may also find the productive skills referred to as the active skills and the 
receptive skills referred to as the passive skills. These two directions are considered to be sufficient 
to prepare students not only for knowledge but also for real life.
Although the process of learning English at school has already given a general idea of speaking, 
writing, listening and reading, it is clear that students do not have real-life skills and are not able to 
use them in practice. They do not demonstrate the skills they have. It shows that there are shortcom-
ings in the teaching methods. It should be noted that if it were not shortcomings, students would not 
relearn what is in the high school system in educational center. In consequence, language skills devel-
opment should progressively be given greater attention at secondary level of education.
