2. Describe a person who offered a clever solution to a problem you had. 
 
Something that happened recently, I just started a new music degree program so I'm 
working with a new teacher. I'm coming with my previous knowledge and my previous 
equipment. One piece of equipment that is very important for any brass player or even 
wind player is the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece may look the same, but really there's small 
differences that can affect how easy a certain part of the register is or how clear the 
articulation is and so on. And something that my teacher recently asked me was the 
mouthpiece that I have been playing on told him the specifications he said: "This is way too 
small. You need something a little bit different a little bit bigger and I think it will help you 
solve some of your problems". So, in my last lesson with him, I played on many different 
mouthpieces to see which one would be the best fit for me and out of ten mouthpieces we 
narrowed it down to two that seemed to be good possibilities. I've been playing with them 
since that lesson to see what the differences are and see what fits best for me. What I 
found really interesting is certain problems that I thought were my faults were actually due 
to the mouthpiece, because now with these new mouthpieces my teacher is having me 
practice on he said: "I've noticed that my intonation is better, it's easier to play throughout 
the whole register of my instrument. I realized that the issues I had before were not my 
fault

3. Describe a business person you admire. 
 
It's hard for me to admire business people because I find that my values don't really align 
with someone who wants to amass millions or billions of dollars, but I do admire Warren 
Buffet, because I think he's a very intelligent person and he seems more self-aware of 
wealth and the status and privilege that it brings him as a person and to his family than 
many other billionaires, such as Jeff bezos or Elon musk, who are just annoying and 
obnoxious, in my opinion. I like how Warren Buffet has a very systematic approach to 
business and to deciding what to invest in. He looks at the hard numbers. He doesn't rely 
on a gut feeling or just his own opinion about what he thinks will take off in the future. He 
really looks at the data and makes a solid decision, which, I think, is how we should make 
all decisions in our lives as much as possible. I also think that in his case, because he is 
more deliberate and thoughtful about how he accumulates as well. He's also more 
thoughtful with how he uses it. While he probably could part with more of it, I think he does 
a good job of donating money to charity and trying to make a difference in the world to 
without making a huge deal about whatever he is supporting. I watched a video a long time 
ago about his life story and I didn't realize he came from a very humble background and 
really had to work his way up and that's something that I do admire.
