14.Method of holistic comparative typological analysis
U.K.Yusupov’s approach to comparative study of languages is a holistic one which presupposes invstigation of languages as to their all existing levels represented by their units, only then can a scholar establish all systemic similarities and dissimilarities.
This way, a detailed model of comparative typological research was offered by prof. U.K.Yusupov, who made a whole system approach to the languages compared (See: his Проблeмы сопостaвитeльной лингвистики. Т., 1980).
In his fundamental research work prof. U.K.Yusupov made an attempt at working out and offering some very relevant features of typological constants as to the levels of language hierarchy, beginning with the phonetico-phonological level and ending in the textological one.
Prof. U.K.Yusupov offers the following methods of comparative typological analysis as to the language hierarchy:
1. Methods of comparing languages in their abstract systems.
2. Methods of comparing grammatical system of non-related languages.
3. Methods of comparing lexical systems of non-related languages.
4. Methods of comparing word-building systems of non-related languages.
5. Methods of comparing phraseological systems of non-related languages.
6. Methods of comparing languages in speech systems.
7. Methods of comparing languages in textual systems.
The above mentioned methods or models of comparative typological analysis offered above by different sholars lay a solid ground for further investigations and elaborate and enrich the compatrative typological theory with new linguistics data and pave the way for new horizons in this sphere of scientific research activities.
15. The Inductive method
The inductive method is one that presupposes that analyses of grammemes and conclusions to them are made on the basis of empirical analyses rather than of logical conclusions which guarantee the authenticity of the postulates and summaries. That is a method of analysis based strictly on the inference of particular instances from a concrete law. Hence inductive reasoning involves drawing conclusions based on concrete analysis of things that are already known.
