Activity 2b (5 m)
Students read the sentences from 2a aloud and point to the pictures

Activity 2c (5 m)
Students guess the meaning of these words, then they can check in the Wordlist.
Activity 3 (10 m)
Explain to your students that they will read a short invitation letter. Give them time to think, then ask to read the parts of the letter in order. Ask them to read the sentences aloud.

Tell your students they will write an answer to the invitation. Each pupil should first read her/his partner’s invitation. Then draw their attention to the simple invitation card in the Classbook. Make sure they understand everything. Now they can write. Help if necessary

Lesson outcomes: By the end of the lesson:
- Students will have practised new words
- Students will have developed reading for detailed information
- Students will have developed writing skills through a controlled activity


Vocabulary: put, cut, triangle, square, circle, raisins, lettuce.
Method of teaching: Interactive
Equipment and aids: cards and pictures with new words, Bread, tomato,
cucumber, lettuce, carrot, flappers, books and blackboard


Beginning of the lesson: (5 minute)

  1. Get the class ready for the lesson

Lead in: “I am a WORD” game (3 minute)
- Think of an English word which characterized you best.
e.g. Pupil A: I am Oyimjon for OPENLY.
Pupil B: I am Javohir for JOLLY
Pupil C: I am Sirojiddin for SMART

  1. Checking homework

Main part of the lesson:
Activity1a
Objective: to establish the meaning of new words
Time: 2 minute
This is a normal matching activity which is to be done orally.
Activity1b
Objective: to teach the correct pronunciation
Time: 2 minute
Read the words for your pupils to teach repeat after you in chorus or individually.
Activity1c
Objective: to reinforce the new words
Time: 5 minute
To teach pupils to be observant
Ask your pupils to look round the classroom and try and find the shapes. At this stage they may simply point to an object and say out loud the words for the shapes.
Activity 2
Objective: to revise the words for food
Time: 6 minute
Pupils look at the pictures and read the shopping lists. Then they do the matching in their exercise books.
Activity 3a
Objective: To practice reading for detailed information
Time: 10 minute
Tell your pupils that Malika and Anvar have made very interesting sandwiches and it will be everybody’s task to find them. Pupils should read both parts, a) and b) and find the answers, then compare their answers with their partner. If there isn’t enough time pupils can works in pairs where one pupil reads the sentences in a) and finds Malika’s sandwich in the picture and shows it to her/his partners. The second pupil does the same with Anvar’s sandwich.
Activity 3b
Objective: to give practice in writing
Time: 5 minute
Ask pupils to draw a sandwich they would like to make and write instructions following the model in Activity 3a, e.g. cut triangle eyes from an egg.
Activity 4
Objective: to revise the words for food
Time: 5 minute
Flappers. Groups are divided into two groups. Pictures with the Vegetables and fruit’s are put on the blackboard. Two Flappers are given to groups. And the teacher says a name of the Vegetable or fruits, pupils must touch pictures with the flapper. Which teams are firstly, they take a ball for their team
E.g. Teacher: cucumber
Two member of the team touch the flappers to the picture of cucumber
Marking. (2 minute)
For each an activity teacher gives marks (on paper). Pupil count and find the average which is put in register
