Lesson outcomes: By the end of the lesson:
- Students will have knowledge about writing the invitation.
- Students will have developed reading, writing, speaking skills
- Students will learn more about uzbek foods.
Aims:
1. Topic aims: - To introduce a new topic – Come and stay with us
2. Grammar aims: - To give Students an opportunity to practice the Present Simple Tense.
3. Communicative aims: - To give Students an opportunity to answer their friend’s invitation.
4. Vocabulary aims: - To give Students an opportunity to recycle words related to holidays.
5. Skill aims: - To give Students an opportunity to practise listening and reading. To give Students an opportunity to write the invitation to each other
6. Cultural aims: - To give Students an opportunity to speak about holidays in .


Materials: articles, posters, maps, calendars, songs, photos, etc.;
Equipments: computers, Video projector, slides
Vocabulary: of course, jam, cake, very much, invitation


Procedure
I. Warm-up: (3 minutes)
1. Beginning of the lesson.

  1. Get the class ready for the lesson. Phonetic Drill.

  • Who stole the cookies from the cookies jar?

  • … stole the cookies from the cookies jar.

  • Who? Me?

  • Yes, you.

  • Couldn’t be.

  • Then who? Who stole the ……

(Usually students name their classmates and it continues)

  1. Checking homework.

II. Main part of the lesson.
Activity 1 (5 m)
Put cards with the names of holidays on the walls in the four corners of the classroom: New Year, Women’s Day, Navruz, Teacher’s Day. Tell students to stand up and go to the corner with their favourite holiday. You may join one of the groups. Then ask one pupil from each group why he/she is in this corner. They should say, I’m here because I like Navruz or Women’s Day is my favourite holiday. If children have difficulty you can be the first to speak. Then students in the group ask each other Why do you like …? or Why is … your favourite holiday?
Activity 2a (5m)
Guess the title of the text. Read the text:
At Navruz people cook palov, manti and shashlik. There are a lot of cakes, jam and sweets. And of course women cook sumalak. They must be good at cooking it. Children like sumalak. All the children in the Abdullaev family like sumalak very much. Their mother cooks it every year.
