1. Introduction 
 
This  MSc  thesis  serves  as  a  final  assessment  for  MSc  Management  Studies,  specialization 
Facility Management. The research is performed for and commissioned by the facilities and services 
department of Wageningen UR. Paragraph 1.1 describes the background and problem analysis of this 
research. The research objective can be found in paragraph 1.2, followed by the research questions 
in paragraph 1.3. Paragraph 1.4 provides a short introduction on Wageningen UR, followed up by a 
description  of  the  Facilities  and  Services  department  of  Wageningen  UR  in  paragraph  1.5.  Chapter 
two consists of the literature study, in which the direction and scope of the research is determined. 
The  methodology  of  this  research  is  described  in  chapter  3.  Chapter  4  entails  the  results  of  the 
interviews with experts. The conclusion and discussion can be found in chapter 5, followed up by a 
recommendation in chapter 6. Finally, chapter 7 consists of limitations of this study and suggestions 
for further research.
