Мужчина же в английском языке обозначается ней-
тральными словами man, workman, boy, carpenter, master, 
soldier, father, child, architect и описывается скорее в ней-
трально-благожелательном ключе:
— Нейтральные советы, не содержащие четкой харак-
теристики мужчины как такового 
(The best-laid schemes 
of mice and men gang aft agley (often go аwry). The child 
is the father of the man. Every man is the architect of his 
own fortune);
— Сильная связь с трудовой деятельностью
(A bad 
workman blames his tools. The busiest men have the most 
leisure. Two boys are half a boy, and three boys are no 
boy at all. A carpenter is known by his chips. The eye of a 
master does more work than both his hands. The first duty 
of a soldier is obedience);
— Личные качества: храбрость, дружба, верность дан-
ному слову
(Brave men lived before Agamemnon. Faint 
heart never won fair lady. A man is known by the company 
he keeps. An Englishman’s word is his bond);
