- determine the significance of vocabulary and pronunciation drills in speaking and their influence on the quality of spoken language in young learners;
- discuss the challenges faced in teaching speaking skills to young learners, focusing on age-appropriateness, scaffolding, and balancing accuracy and fluency;
- analyze the role of teachers in facilitating the development of speaking skills among young students and providing them with the necessary support;
- outline effective lesson planning strategies that cater to the needs of young learners while addressing the challenges of teaching speaking skills;
The scientific novelty of the work lies in the development and application of effective teaching methods and strategies that are specifically tailored to the unique needs and characteristics of young learners. While there is a considerable body of research on teaching speaking skills to learners of all ages, the field of second language acquisition recognizes that young learners have distinct cognitive, social, and affective needs that must be taken into account when designing language teaching programs. Research has shown that effective language teaching programs for young learners should be based on principles of child development and second language acquisition, and should incorporate a range of interactive and engaging activities that are designed to promote language learning in a fun and enjoyable way. These activities may include games, songs, stories, drama, and role plays, which are all effective in promoting the development of speaking skills in young learners.
