MODERN AZERBAIJAN POETRY AND “KITABI-DEDE GORGUD”
Summary
“Kitabi-Dede Gorgud” eposes and the independence period of Azerbaijan Poetry is an important issue as a science problem in the researching of bilateral relations of the written and folklore literature.
The studying traditions of the epos “Kitabi-Dede Gorgud” in the independence period of Azerbaijan poetry must be overstated from this historical aspects as the including of epos to the Azerbaijan’s national life with particular process. The increasing interest of epos caused the existing of a range of artistic works in literal area last century. Today according to continuing the tradition we shall try to realize the attitude of folklore and independence period poetry while learning the role and place of the epos in our poetry.
The bringing of Dede Gorgud images and motives to our poetry is one of the essential branch which is related to Azerbaijan poetry with folklore. Poem’s taking advantages of Dede Gorgud epos in their poetry is clear this time. Most poets try to demonstrate their poetic thoughts as being close to folk literature by using Dede Gorgud images and motives. From such poets Mammad Araz “Dede Gorgud Challenge” (Dede Gorgud Seslemesi), the poems by Bakhtiyar Vahabzade, Ramiz Rovsen, Zelimkhan Yagub, Vagif Bayat and young poets are special important.
