This year, the number of primary trade union organizations that are part of the 
Karakalpak Council of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan amounted to 
1923, with 249864 employees. 2163 labor protection commissioners were elected in 
these institutions. 
During the implementation of public control over the state of labor protection 
for 7 months of 2021, trade unions at 15 enterprises and organizations of the republic 
revealed 29 shortcomings. In the course of the identified shortcomings,
14 prescriptions were given to the work details. Of the identified offenses, more than 
93.3 % of the shortcomings were eliminated with the help of trade unions. 
Labor protection specialists applied to the courts 1 time; in 1 case they 
participated in labor protection disputes; in 3 cases they took part in the investigation 
of industrial accidents; 3 times the technical condition of children's health camps for 
preparing for the season was studied. 
Trade unions analyze and monitor the medical examination of employees, the 
creation of safe working conditions for women, the certification of workplaces for 
working conditions and injuries of equipment hazards, the implementation of labor 
protection measures in collective agreements, etc.

For 7 months of 2021, 11702 employees in more than 440 enterprises underwent 
mandatory medical examinations. Certification of 771 workplaces in 11 enterprises 
was carried out. According to their results, 3109 employees were granted additional 
vacation days, 1191 employees were given medical and preventive nutrition. 
More than 4381557000 UZS were spent on the implementation of more than 
12964 labor protection measures provided for by collective agreements. Of these, 
270108000 UZS were spent on providing employees with milk, therapeutic and 
preventive nutrition, carbonated salt water, personal protective equipment and 
hygiene products. 
902873000 UZS were spent on mandatory medical examinations,
2293047000 UZS were spent on training, retraining, and advanced training of labor 
protection workers. 154200000 UZS were spent on certification of workplaces 
according to working conditions at workplaces. 
26 billion 572 million UZS were spent on compulsory civil liability insurance of 
the employer. On average, more than 9500 UZS were spent on each employee. 
Every year, the Karakalpak Council of the Federation of Trade Unions of 
Uzbekistan organizes training courses, where the topics on labor protection and 
safety (LPS) are included in the programs. According to the FPU Training Center, 
from 2015 to today, more than 200 trade union activists have been trained and about 
500 people have been trained by distance learning. 
Injuries and occupational diseases at enterprises and organizations cause 
concern of trade unions about the state of occupational safety and health. For
7 months of 2021, 3 industrial accidents were registered in the member organizations 
of trade unions. Of these, 2 cases with a severe outcome and 1 case with a mild 
outcome. In total, as a result of industrial accidents, 2 people were seriously injured 
and 1 person was slightly injured.
