2.2. Expected results 
 
Social dialogue, social protection, the right to work and employment are 
indispensable components of sustainable development and should be at the center of 
policy for sustainable growth of the entire economy. These are the four pillars on 
which the Country Program on Decent Work in Uzbekistan has been formed.
Sustainable development means that the needs of the current generation must be 
met without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. 
Sustainable development has three aspects - economic, social and environmental, 
which are interrelated, equally important and should be solved together. 
So, we have a goal – sustainable development. There are different approaches to 
it, models and tools that are formed in accordance with national conditions and 
priorities for achieving sustainable development in its three dimensions.
In achieving sustainable development, a fair transition to an environmentally 
sustainable economy is important, but at the same time it is necessary to manage well 
and promote the goals of decent work for all, where social integration and poverty 
eradication will be the final results. 
Decent work, poverty eradication and environmental sustainability are the three 
main challenges of the twenty-first century. The economy must be productive to meet 
the needs of a growing population. Society should be inclusive, providing decent 
work opportunities for all, reducing inequality and effectively eliminating poverty.
When we talk about greening the economy, enterprises and jobs, we must 
consider this in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication. 
Greening the economy opens up many opportunities to achieve social goals: it has the 
potential to become a new engine of economic growth and a clean generator of 
decent, «green» jobs that can make a significant contribution to poverty eradication 
and social integration. Greening the economy will strengthen our ability to manage 
natural resources rationally, increase energy efficiency and reduce waste, eliminating 
inequality and increasing sustainability. Greening jobs and promoting «green» jobs, 
both in traditional and new sectors, will contribute to a competitive, low-carbon, 
environmentally sustainable economy and models of sustainable consumption and 
production, and contributes to the fight against climate change.
With good governance, the transition to an environmentally and socially 
sustainable economy can become a powerful engine for creating jobs, increasing 
employment, social justice and eradicating poverty.
Sustainable development is possible only with the active participation of the 
whole society. The government, employers and employees are not passive observers,

but rather agents who can develop new ways of working that protect the environment 
for present and future generations, eradicate poverty and promote social justice by 
promoting viable enterprises and creating decent work for all.
