3.1 The methods of using media materials in teaching English
1. Statement of purpose
A) The purpose for conducting the study:
The main aim of this research paper is considered that using media materials in teaching foreign languages is very essential and effective method to improve speaking skills not only for English teachers but also learners in a continuing education system such as a kindergarten, elementary school, secondary school, high school and higher education. Utilizing different types of media materials which are visual media materials such as picture, model, object, audio- visual media materials - television and a film, TV program recorded and audio materials that are radio, tape recorder, audio compact disc, MP3, MP4 helps teachers to create English atmosphere in the classroom and to avoid traditional methods which are boring for pupils. These kinds of materials effect all sub-skills that are reading, writing, listening and speaking, but they are more effective to listening and speaking skills. We will analyze the effectiveness of using media materials firstly the children who are from six to seven years old in kindergarten, the pupils who are taught in school and the students studying in higher education in the process of teaching English.
The AIM of this study is to:

  1. To study literature concerning academic vocabulary and phraseological units on methodology

  2. To analyze existed literature on teaching methodology

  3. To determine the effectiveness of using phraseological units in teaching academic vocabulary for pre-intermediate and intermediate level learners;

  4. To investigate pre-intermediate and intermediate level learners’ attitude towards in teaching academic vocabulary for pre-intermediate and intermediate level learners.
