Today more and more tourists are visiting places where conditions are difficult, such as
the Sahara desert or the Antarctic? What are the benefits and disadvantages for tourists
who visit such places?
Over the last few years, there has been a significant increase in the number of excursionists
travelling to unexplored or hostile places.
Tourists can gain various exciting experiences
from an adventurous trip but there are many drawbacks to be taken into account.
On
the one hand, there are many advantages of such exciting expeditions. First and
foremost, such journeys improve one’s confidence in one’s abilities as the trippers feel a
sense of accomplishment since it provides significant inspiration and self esteem to them
so passionate people want to experience the adrenalin rush that such expeditions bring on
and
being aware of the risks, they want to experience the thrill of adventure tourism.
Moreover, such voyages give them chance to visit unspoiled world and enjoy the beauty of
natural scenery very closely by virtue of which sightseers get amazed by the landscapes
which they find at these isolated places.
Furthermore, regular travelers may get bored by
seeing normal touring spots where an adventurous journey may become once-in-a-lifetime
experience which would make pleasant memories for them as the exhilaration that one
experiences upon its successful completion is not something that can be described in mere
words.
On the other hand, sometimes these kinds of difficult quests can be extremely dangerous.
Firstly, things can go against the plans because conditions at those places are difficult for
the survival of tourists and can put their life in danger.
For instance, the temperature of
Sahara desert is unbearable for an outsider and due to excessive heat a human being can
suffer a hypovolemic shock and sometimes death may occur, therefore it
is important to
gather appropriate knowledge about the local conditions of a place before planning a trip.
Secondly, there are lack of facilities available over there and not only transportation
problem could occur at such places but also there might be no proper telecommunication
system and one must have to carry own food items to eat and water to drink. Finally, the
cost of such endeavors can be exorbitant as these missions need special equipments such
as shoes, tents or clothing which are expensive and not affordable for everyone and if the
travelers go missing
or find themselves in trouble, the government may have to launch
costly rescue operations by using emergency helicopters for evacuation.
In conclusion, no doubt exploring inhabitable places could be extremely thrilling for people
wanting
to test their limits, however the threats associated with such kind of excursions
cannot be neglected due to the facilities that these places lack.
