Theme: Speech act theory and the principle of Politeness
The aim of the lesson: to introduce a new topic and use well in oral and written contexts
The objectives of the lesson: to know about speech acts and types of acts in English and learn to analyze. SS will also learn mode and rule of politeness and usage of strategies in communication


Learning outcomes: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify the theory of speech action and politeness as well as understand when and how to use them
Activities


Activity 1. Warm up exercise

How do you perform the following actions?



  1. Congratulate someone

  2. Call someone’s attention to the board

  3. Forbid someone to enter the room
