FRONT OFFICE SEMANTICS
Universal process of management:
Concept that, at the most basic level, the principles of planning,
organizing, coordinating, staffing, controlling, and evaluating are the same (or similar) in any type of
business or organization.
Some management responsibilities and activities are unique to the rooms division
and to the management positions within it. Job tasks for common front office man-
agement positions are noted in Figure 8. (Note that the positions in Figures 8 and 9
are keyed to the organization chart for the mega hotel shown in Figure 6.)
