travel expenses and are often sensitive to the prices charged.
Limited-Service Hotels
Limited-service hotels developed as a direct result of consumer demand, and at the
beginning of the twenty-first century, they were the largest and fastest growing seg-
ment of the lodging industry. For many travelers, a simple, clean, and safe room lo-
cated near their desired destination (or on the way to it) is all that is required.
