Uzbekistan is the endemic region of the very dangerous human disease - echinococcosis. Special sharpness to the
problem gives significant socially-economic damage, applied by echinococcosis to the economy of the country, and it comes to
millions sums per year. All these conditions dictate the need of organization and carrying out wide front of complex medico-
veterinary and public utility events on fight and prevention of echinococcosis morbidity among groups of high risk and inadmis-
sibility of distribution of the disease among agricultural and wild herbivorous, omnivores and carnivore’s animals. This problem
is very actual because in the number of villages not only population, but medical, veterinary and municipal services insufficiently
understand the problem of echinococcosis. Intermediate hosts such as cow and sheep become infected by echinococcosis in
result of swallowing these ovals with food, water. In human infection of echinococcosis basic role plays contact with invasive
dog, on wool and tong of which can be ovals of parasite. Infection can also occur at using of dirty vegetables, berries, fruit,
contaminated by echinococcosis ovals; at cutting skins of hunted wild carnivores and fur animals; at drinking of crude water
from natural reservoirs. Echinococcosis cysts often develop in liver or in lungs. Practical introduction of the maintenance will
help early identification of the echinococcosis patients and their treatment, prevention of dog, cattle infection by echinococcosis.
To eradicate of echinococcosis and develop infectious control model in Uzbekistan we started echinococcosis control program
in Samarkand in 2015. We conducted several program regarding diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and education on echino-
coccosis to improve sustainable and self-help skill. Programs are conducted for patient management including education, con-
trol of domestic animals and control of final host such as dogs and other carnivore animals. Specially we focused the weak
point of the echinococcosis control and now the member of the control team can do all of the program by themselves. The
incidence of new cases is decreasing at project site and can be diagnosed early by sonography and ELISA. New technique of
surgical method using laparoscopy to reduce of surgical complication was set up at the hospital. Most of the people living in the
project site know what is echinococcosis and how to prevent through public broadcasting and education program. We expect
this pilot program extend other region to control echinococcosis and other infectious disease in Uzbekistan.
