4) Time management
I studied Malaysian language for three months before dispatching to site, and 
learned pronunciation from the owner’s staff who was in Korea. As soon as I arrived 
in Malaysia, I went around talking Malaysian language on the market after work and 
on holidays. I came to site one hour earlier before the office hour, and sorted the 
documents, copied and read them. After six months, the entire story from all different 
departments was understood clearly so that I could discuss and help them.
I wrote one research paper about time management how to effectively work. It 
was important to listen carefully, to discuss properly, to read correctly, to write well, 
and to have a productive meeting. To do this, time matters. Everyone had to manage 
time properly together at the same time. Since then, I had the habit of creating a plan 
and work process, controlling myself, integrating resources, and finishing on time 
with my own thoughts.
5) Survival
The second overseas work was in Bangkok branch office in 1994. Coordination 
with the site was more important than developing a new project because 2 project 
sites started to operate. However, my manager, sitting in the office all day, looking at 
the newspapers for making a report, asked me not to spend a lot of time to support 
sites as discovering new project is more important.
After meeting for developing new project, I made a draft on the way back to 
office, and my manager corrected three or four hours so that there should be no any 
questions from head office, therefore, subtracting blood and flesh, made a skeleton 
report without provoking any further discussion or idea. After enduring 2 years, I 
decided to return to the head office and tried to terminate the contract with company, 
however, decided to stay as my colleagues advised. I learned that it was important to 
survive in an organization to be a good manager for sharing meaningful idea together.
