Sociolinguistic competence

Ability to construct short, simple, coherent, cohesive and logical utterances of various functional styles in oral and written speech based on the understanding of various discourse types while reading and listening as well as ability to choose language forms, use and modify them within the framework of communicative settings based on the content areas for beginner level of learning.

Discourse competence
|
Ability to recognise the peculiarities of discourses by their genre (songs, poems, rhymes, riddles, fairy tales, academic texts, forms, instructions to games and etc.) related to various communicative settings based on the content areas for beginner level of learning.

Strategic competence
|
Ability to express themselves in a short way, produce separate utterances mainly consisting of memorised items; knowledge of national-cultural peculiarities of language and speech phenomena; verbal/non-verbal means of compensation in communicative foreign culture settings, which are used for filling in the lacunas of linguistic, pragmatic and socio-cultural character related to various communicative settings based on the content areas for beginner level of learning.
