M.H.TAHMASIB AS AN INVESTIGATOR OF THE EPOS “DEDE GORGUD”
Summary
One of the well-known representatives of the 20^th century Azerbaijan folklore-study was M.H.Tahmasib. He has great services in the collecting, publication and especially in the investigation of Azerbaijan folklore. M.H.Tahmasib includes the eposes according to the quantity and the origin into the line which have in common with the mythical thoughts, the different cults, the heroic tales or the ancient legends and rumors. The best example of these eposes is considered the part “Basatin Tepegozu oldurduyu boy” (“The part Tepegoz’s death by Basat”). Based on the investigations till himself M.H.Tahmasib comes to the conclusion that the part “Tepegoz’s death by Basat” is differed according to its structure, composition, plot and motifs, the artistry value, aim and purpose from the other variants.
