SOCIAL-POLITICAL ADVERTISEMENT: CONTENT, TYPES OF
CARRYING OUT, FUNCTIONS

Today, there is a tendency for politically motivated groups to raise social issues 
and gain prestige. First of all, we will study what social advertising is, how it differs 
from other types of advertising, the specifics of social advertising, what are the 
requirements for its delivery to the public.
Social advertising is a non-profit advertisement designed to draw public 
attention to social problems in society20.
Often, various government agencies or non-governmental non-profit 
organizations, advertising agencies become customers of social advertising, and in 
some cases such advertising is distributed free of charge or at preferential prices. 
Fighting drug addiction, following traffic rules, promoting a healthy lifestyle, 
protecting the environment, and so on can be bright examples of social advertising.
According to the amendments to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On 
Advertising", the activities of individuals for the free preparation and dissemination of 
social advertising information, the transfer of their property (including funds) to other 
persons for the preparation and dissemination of social advertising information are 
recognized as charitable activities. Such people shall enjoy the benefits provided for 
by law.
Advertisers are obliged to place social advertising information in the amount 
of not less than 5% of the total annual volume of airtime, publication or advertising 
space allocated for advertising. At the same time, advertisers, whose activities are fully 
or partially funded from the state budget of the republic, place social advertising 
information free of charge.
