TEXT 1. Air pollution

The earth's atmosphere supplies the living beings on the planet with the gases they need for photosynthesis and breathing. In addition, the ozone layer protects organisms from the sun's ultraviolet radiation. The importance of the atmosphere for life on earth cannot be overestimated, but people also use the atmosphere as a landfill for exhaust gases and particles.

Types of air pollution

The two types of air pollutants are primary pollutants, which are released directly into the atmosphere, and secondary pollutants, which are created through a chemical reaction.

Primary pollutants

Some primary pollutants are natural, such as volcanic ash. Dust is natural, but it is aggravated by human activity; for example, when the soil is torn up for agriculture or development. Most primary pollutants are the result of human activity, direct emissions from vehicles and chimneys.

TEXT 2. The Aral Sea problem

The tragedy of the disappearance of the Aral Sea is one of the most convincing and illustrative cases against unbalanced activities in human society in the second half of the 20th century. During this period, humanity not only achieved the unprecedented achievements in technical development, but also damaged nature more than ever. This outrage against the planet was caused by the technological revolution, which at the time was declared a turning point in human history, until the most progressive people found that behind its facade there were very serious environmental consequences.

The drying up of the Aral Sea, which was a large body of water of good quality, has reached such a level that widespread natural degradation within the parched area and outside its borders has made this region a natural disaster area.

Text 3. Agroforestry and its Benefits

Agro-forestry is the management and integration of trees, crops and / or livestock on the same property and can be an integral part of productive agriculture. It can include existing indigenous forests and forest planted by landowners. It is a flexible concept that includes both small and large plots.

Scientifically speaking, agroforestry is derived from ecology and is one of the three most important land use sciences, the other two being agriculture and forestry.
