foreign language. Modern foreign language education should develop the individual's ability to
adapt to the conditions of internationalization of education, science and production, when a foreign
language becomes a means of communication in a professional context. Researchers have proved
that a foreign language is the main significant means of training specialists in higher education
institutions and a socially developing potential for personal development. Language training is
aimed at adapting them to the rapidly changing conditions of the modern market for new innovative
technologies, information systems, and developing the ability to establish contacts with
representatives of foreign companies, native speakers of a foreign language and other culture.
In this regard, in the light of the requirements of the generation, a necessary condition for the
University training of future qualified personnel is their formation not only as a qualified, but also
as a competent language personality capable of successfully performing functional duties in a
foreign language environment.
Therefore, the process of teaching a foreign language to students of a technical university
aimed at forming media competence is reflected in the goals, selection of content, organization of
the learning process, selection of teaching methods and evaluation of learning results formulated in
the logic of its conceptual ideas. Using various methods for forming media competence in the
process of teaching a foreign language, we develop students' ability to independently plan and
organize their own activities for searching, analyzing, and processing information. These skills
allow students to interact in a single global information space, to carry out cross-language and
cross-cultural communication using modern media.
The use of such teaching methods is one of the most important directions for improving the
training of students in a modern university. The formation of media competence involves the use of
new technologies and forms of implementation of educational work. First of all, it is necessary to
switch from informative forms and methods of teaching to active ones, reorientation from a
knowledge-based to an activity-based approach, and search for opportunities to combine students'
theoretical knowledge with their practical needs. When you use media technologies in the process
of learning a foreign language creates new conditions in the classroom that allow the student to
become a subject of training activities, active member of the cognitive process during which
students gain knowledge about the language of media, the principles of functioning of foreign -
language media; develop skills to carry out mediacommunication in a foreign language; to show
willingness to communicate in a foreign language.
As a rule, starting to work in the specialty, when communicating with their foreign
colleagues, a young specialist is faced with the need to solve problems of theoretical and practical
significance that require a clear and clear thought, the ability to formulate this idea orally or in
writing in a foreign language. Therefore, we should not forget about such methods as research,
search, and discussion. They, along with media tools, will help to develop a competitive specialist
of a new level, who has creative abilities, critical thinking, professional competence, and is able to
develop and make decisions in an unstable and rapidly changing situation. These methods will
allow future specialists to create some models of scientific research, decision-making models that
they can apply in future activities, and not only in it.
Thus, media competence of students in the process of learning a foreign language will allow
them to expand their horizons, develop creative thinking, form the necessary knowledge, skills and
abilities for future work and get the necessary range of knowledge to work with media resources.
