Understanding and translating implicit terms requires a thorough analysis of the semantic structure of the term-phrase for hidden semes, establishing relationships between the components of the term based on the context.
Based on the analysis carried out using reference sources, create a translation of the term using the methods of additions, rearrangements or logical development.
The resulting term must be checked for contextual relevance i.e. determine if it makes sense in a given context
Problem 6: Metaphor terms and idiom terms
This group of terms includes phrases consisting of words with a metaphorical meaning, as well as phraseological terms. The difficulty of translating such terms lies in the fact that their internal form, even being sometimes very transparent, does not allow the translator to deduce the meaning of the entire terminological unit. In other words, it is far from easy to guess the meaning of such phrases, and the literal translation of all components of the phrase (tracing) in these cases, as a rule, does not convey the meaning of such a term. For example:
leapfrog appeal
|
непосредственная апелляция в палату лордов (минуя апелляционный суд) апелляция
|
blue sky laws
|
законодательство о контроле над капиталовложениями
закон о воздушном пространстве

Strategies:
If there are indications that a term is an idiom or contains metaphorical or metonymic meanings, then a literal translation of such terms is generally not allowed;
First, it is necessary to determine the exact meaning of the terminological phrase, using dictionaries and reference sources, as well as checking the context;
If the translator refuses to preserve figurativeness due to the lack of motivation of the internal form, considerations of style, context, etc., then a descriptive translation is used to convey the meaning of the term, which can later be reduced to a keyword, for example: King's bounty - пособие;
If the internal form of the term is communicatively significant and motivated for the recipient of the translation, then such a term can be translated. The translated word with a figurative (figurative) meaning is enclosed in quotation marks, and a descriptive translation is given next to it. For example: channel captain - «капитан» сбытового канала или наиболее влиятельный участник торгово-распределительной сети товаров
