INTRODUCTION
Throughout life, a person faces various situations that require the use of a professional lawyer. Often documents have to be reproduced in a foreign language, for example, to get a job position abroad, entrance to a foreign university, and successful business operations. In this instance, you cannot do without the services of a professional translator.
Translation of documents of natural and legal persons can be described as "translation of texts related to law and used for the exchange of legal information between people speaking different languages". Since Law is a subject area related to the socio-political and cultural background of a country, the legal translation of legal documents is not an easy task and is considered one of the most difficult types of text to translate among translators, because the language of the legal translation must be particularly precise, clear and accurate to convey the legal information adequately.
The language of law implies a specialized vocabulary that covers a wide range of legal branches and institutions. When translating legal documents it is necessary to take into account the existing differences in the legislation of countries, the specifics of Russian and English legal discourse.
The translator faces the problem of adequately conveying the content of legal documents when translating from one language to another. As a consequence, there is a need to translate, in particular, lexical transformations, because the language of the law has a special vocabulary and has a certain terminological content.
The topic of the course paper is determined by the specifics of the translation of legal documents are now increasingly attracting the attention of researchers. The current special relevance of the issues of comparative language analysis in the legal sphere, as well as the methodology and techniques of translation of texts of legal documents is due to the significant changes that have taken place in the sphere of political and economic international relations in recent decades.
There are a significant number of works in the field of translation studies devoted to various problems of translating texts, such as the works of such scholars as L.S. Barkhudarov, V.N. Komissarov, Y.I. Retzker, T.R. Levitskaya and A.M. Fitterman. Many of their works and research I used throughout my course paper.
The topicality of the course paper is determined by increasing translation studies as a science is relatively new and the number of practical studies in the field of legal translation is small. Considering that we live in the era of intercultural communication, we consider it important to establish contacts in the field of jurisprudence by studying the methods of translation of legal documents.
The object of this course paper is legal texts, in particular terms related to legal acts.
The subject of this course paper is methods, tools and techniques of translation of legal documents and terms.
The aim of this work is to study the peculiarities of the translation of legal documents.
In accordance with the aim of the work the tasks are defined:
1. to consider the concept, functions and role of translation;
2. identify the main types of legal documents;
3. study the stylistic characteristics of legal documents;
4. to analyze the peculiarities of translation of legal documents;
5. analyze the translation of terminological units.
The novelty is due to the fact that, in contrast to the problems of translation, the legal language has been studied relatively little, and the translation of legal documents even less. At the present time, there is a certain gap at the junction of linguistics and legal sciences, as there is no proper interaction between specialists in these fields. But despite the lack of research, the topic of interaction between language and law has recently become increasingly relevant, and in linguistics, there is a special direction - legal linguistics or juridical linguistics.
In order to achieve my aim more effectively, I have used various methods: method of content analysis, method of comparison, concretization, analogy, comparison; classification, generalization.
The theoretical significance of course paper lies in the fact that its results can be used in writing theses on this topic.
The practical significance of this course paper is that its results can be used in practical activities of translators in the field of legal translations, as well as in training courses of lectures at universities on the theory and practice of translation.
As the research material we used the most active the literature devoted to the topic. Besides, we studied up to date American, British and other foreign articles on international websites related to the scientific work.
