INTRODUCTION (abstract of PhD dissertation) 
 
The aim of the research 
is to improve the methodology of using independent 
learning while preparing students who study biology for professional development in 
higher education. 
The object of the research work 
is the process of organizing independent work 
for students in the field of teaching biology in pedagogical institutions, in which 500 
students participated from Tashkent State Pedagogical University, Kokand State 
Pedagogical Institute and Navai State Pedagogical Institute. 
Scientific novelty of the research work:
organizing methods of using autonomous learning while preparing students of 
biology for professional development taking into account such factors as the 
assimilation of the school curriculum, the development of mental labor skills and 
abilities, the productivity of educational and cognitive activity, the formation of an 
individual style of work were clarified;
components of the information-educational environment model aimed at 
organizing students' autonomous learning in the information-communication 
educational environment (in and out of the auditorium) in accordance with the stages 
of independent activity content formation (flexible, formative and final) a mechanism 
for implementation has been created; 
technologies for ensuring the effectiveness of creative self-development through 
the use of independent learning (in various forms of training) in improving the 
professional development of future biology teachers have been improved, such as 
methodological support,
the intensity of students' learning motives, ensuring the 
variability of the algorithm for completing tasks, the productivity of pedagogical 
support (facilitative) of cognitive processes;
criteria and indicators for testing the effectiveness of the new methodology of 
using independent learning in the professional development of students learning 
biology were identified, their effectiveness was determined.
