Support to the Project with Tajik State Pedagogical University and Rasht State Pedagogical Institute

UNICEF Tajikistan is looking for a National Consultant to support trainers at two pre-service teacher training institutions (Tajik State Pedagogical University & Rasht Pedagogical Institute) in developing their skills and knowledge in the area of pedagogy, in general, and student-centred learning, specifically. Therefore, it is expected that this consultant will be well-informed about active learning, lesson planning, assessment and lesson delivery; speaks Tajik and Russian; and, has the necessary competencies to establish a continuous dialogue with the participants. In addition, the consultant will also be requested to support the trainers when they conduct the training of the faculty of their respective institutions. And, the consultant will support the faculty in revising the draft course and working towards its adoption and integration into the curriculum.
Deliverables:
The overall goal of the consultancy is to support the Tajik State Pedagogical University and Rasht Pedagogical Institute’s professors and consultants in developing and conducting study-groups, workshops, and materials on pedagogical approaches for both the faculty and the students of the university. Through implementation of the following tasks:

Coordination and Facilitation of Sessions for Faculty Trainers
The consultant will provide general coordination and facilitation in the delivery and revision of two modules (Active learning and Mastering pedagogy) through group sessions, workshops, study groups and similar to faculty at both institutions engaged in the project

Support to the Training of Faculty
The consultant will support the trainers in their training of the faculty of the Tajik State Pedagogical University and Rasht Pedagogical Institute. The consultant will be expected to provide education expertise in explaining and delivering content to the trainees.

Minimum qualifications:
-
Advanced degree in relevant field, preferably in education and teaching.
-
A minimum of 3 years professional experience at the national level in relevant field, preferably curriculum, pedagogy, and teacher training.

Strong background in pedagogy and curriculum design;
-
Ability to work in a team and as a team leader and ability to travel within the country;

Excellent analytical and report writing skills;

Familiarity with UNICEF’s mission and mandate is an asset;

High proficiency in Russian and Tajik; knowledge of English is an asset;

Work experience with UNICEF is beneficial; knowledge of UNICEF policies and strategies;
