In recent times, the affordability and availability of fast food have increased, as a result of which many people are now overweight. [yaqin vaqtlarda fast foodni arzonligi va yaroqliligi oshdi, buning natijasida ko’pchilik hozir vazn to’plagan].
Living alone might lead to the negative feelings of loneliness and depression, as a result of which people struggle mentally. [yolg’iz yashash yolg’izlik va depressiyaga oboradi, buning natijasida odamlar ruhiy jihatdan qiynaladi].
The issues of unemployment and underemployment may cause people to make money illegally, as a result of which the crime rate is likely to rise in developing countries. In some countries, many people are choosing to live alone.
Is this a positive or negative development?
|
General reason: big social changes.
General topic: living alone.
Controlling issue: is it good or bad?
Position: despite some personal and professional benefits, worrying trend.
Benefits:
Living alone-being responsible for everything-being more independent/confident-stronger personality than others.
Living without others-focusing on education/profession-achieving more academic/professional goals.
More significant drawbacks:
Living alone-failing to get emotional support from loved ones-feeling isolated/lonely-experiencimg depression.
Facing occasional health/safety problems-having nobody to rely on for help.
Due to various massive changes in people’s lifestyles, it has been normal to see individuals opting to live in one-person households, especially in western communities. Even though this might be beneficial from personal and professional perspectives, I regard it as a worrying trend in general.
There are several advantages to living alone. As people live on their own, they tend to be responsible for everything, from performing household chores to paying taxes. This, in turn, can enable them to be more independent and self-confident, growing into stronger personalities than those depending on their families. In addition, as long as people live without their family members or any flatmates, they are likely to get more contentrated on their education or profession, which can help to achieve their academic or professional objectives more quickly. Because of these benefits, increasingly more people, in particular youngsters, are choosing this type of experience.
Despite these positive outcomes, I believe this type of life is more problematic with an array of negative repercussions. From a psychological perspective, if people live alone, they might miss out on the emotional and moral support that family can offer. As a result, rather than the positive feelings of increased independence and self-reliance, they are likely to feel isolated, lonely, and stressed, resulting in the high levels of unhappiness and depression. Furthermore, these people may come across some safety problems. For instance, if they suffer any chronic diseases or encounter several problems in their health, they cannot rely on anybody to take care of them. The longer one lives alone, the more challenging and dangerous their life will get.
In summary, the rise in one-person households has both pros and cons: however, its detrimental effects associated with safety and mental health outweigh the potential benefits.
