Edward Stirling – Played Holmes in the French production
of Doyle’s The Speckled Band, performed in the summer of 1925
at the Théâtre Albert, Paris.
Mark Tandy – English stage and television actor who
appeared in Chris Martin’s adaptation of A Study in Scarlet
(directed by Michael Crompton) which was performed at the
Greenwich Theatre, London, from 30 November 1989 to 20
January 1990.
Leonard Tremayne – Appeared in Leo Trood’s UK tour of
William Gillette’s play Sherlock Holmes from February 1919.
Georges Tréville – French actor who appeared in an other-
wise all-British cast when the French film company Eclair
produced eight 15-minute films based on Doyle’s original
stories in 1912. Filmed at the Kursaal, Bexhill-on-Sea, they
were  The Speckled Band, The Reigate Squires, The Beryl Coronet,
The Adventure of the Copper Beeches, A Mystery of Boscombe Vale, The
Stolen Papers (from the story The Naval Treaty), Silver Blaze and
The Musgrave Ritual. Directed by Tréville, they stuck quite
rigidly to Doyle’s original narratives (with a few notable
exceptions, such as having no Watson in the first film).
