As the only state in America that does not permit law enforcement to provide fingerprinting services, it is my understanding that the state of Florida has approved a list of providers in Maryland who fingerprint on behalf of the state of Maryland’s CJIS Repository.

The vendor I used was found on the Maryland Department of Public Safety website, and is listed below. The state has authorized this vendor to work on their behalf.

From the Maryland Website

“Private providers are authorized by COMAR Regulation 12.15.05 to submit fingerprints directly to the Maryland Criminal Justice Information System for the purpose of obtaining criminal history record checks.”

In making every attempt possible to comply with the Florida statute, I thank you for your understanding the struggle the citizens of Maryland have in obtaining fingerprints through law enforcement.
