Guest history:
Record maintained in the PMS that details information about a guest’s previous hotel stay
or stays. A useful guest history includes information related to guest name, address, previous dates of
stays, room preferences, room rates paid, form of payment, and any other information judged important
by the FOM and recordable in the PMS.
As the four examples have shown, the value of an effective and well-managed
PMS is enormous. Without it, the ability of the FOM to properly address the
advanced technological issues faced daily would be severely limited, and the prof-
itability potential of the hotel would be greatly diminished.
