Tazod in Uzbek can be compared with antithesis in English. In the example 

provided above, banda – shoh (folk –king) , gado – sulton (pauper –sultan), pre-

money – post-money, gains – losesare put opposite to each other.  

However,  there  are  some  lexical  stylistic  devices  in  Uzbek  that  we  cannot 

encounter in English, or vice versa. For example the stylistic device laffu nashr 

in the Uzbek literature does not exist in English. Laffu nashr means to decorate 

in Arabic. A poet uses one or more than one items in the first line (meesrah) of 

a poem and defines each of the items respectively in the second line of the poem 

[1, 66]: 

Takkallum aylarida tiliyu, tishi-yu labi, 

(Her speaking mouth, teeth, and lips) 

Biri anqiq-u, biri inju-yu, biri marjon.(Babur) 

(Are onyx, pearls, and coral beads.)
