Purpose of work. The aim of the research work is to determine the demographic, economic, social and ecological problems of the population and cities of Surkhandarya region based on the study of the factors of formation, development processes, location features.
Job duties. The tasks of the research work are as follows:
- determining the territorial composition of cities in our republic and the place of the cities of Surkhandarya region in it;
- Researching the factors of the emergence of cities of Surkhandarya region;
- analysis of demographic development processes of regional cities;
- determining the functions of cities and researching directions of development in the future, etc. is the task of the research work.
Research object and subject. The research object of this master's thesis is the population of Surkhandarya region and its cities and a network of cities. The subject of research is to study the geographical aspects of the formation and development of cities and the problems of regional urbanization.
Research methods and techniques. Working with literature, cartographic, geographical comparison, statistical, historical and other methods were used in the preparation of this master's thesis.
Description of work structure. The research work consists of an introduction, three chapters, a conclusion, a list of used literature, and appendices. The first chapter covers scientific and theoretical issues about the role of cities in the development of society, the scientific and theoretical foundations of the creation and development of cities in Uzbekistan, and the second In the first chapter, the economic-geographic features of the development of the cities of Surkhandarya region are discussed, and in the last chapter, the main problems and development prospects of Surkhandarya cities are evaluated, promising scientific proposals and practical recommendations are given.
