ANNOTATION
Relevance of the topic. During the years of independence, certain works on the development of cities were carried out in Uzbekistan. The share of urban population increased to 50.6% by 2018 instead of 40.3% in 1991. Such growth rates were achieved mainly due to administrative changes, that is, in 2009, about a thousand rural settlements were transformed into urban settlements. However, in recent years, the level of urbanization in our country has been slow. It is necessary to improve the process of urbanization of the population in our country by effectively using the available opportunities. The fact that the process of urbanization is important and the low level of the process of urbanization in the Surkhandarya region today in the Republic increases the relevance of the topic.
