Do Now
Students choose words from the list that apply to Noah and write down their reasons for choosing those words.
Analytical paragraphs

  • Students are reminded of what a paragraph is and that you should be able to see where paragraphs change in a piece of writing.

  • They are then told that they will be writing their own paragraphs but that they will be thinking carefully about a story rather than writing a story.

Correct points
Students are taught what makes a correct point. Teacher modelling of examples and non-examples.
Worksheet
Students work through the work sheet, deciding which points are correct. The answers are given on the subsequent slides.
Independent work
Students write up their own points for the passages they are given.
Mastery assessment plenary
Students to complete mastery quiz. Address misconceptions.
