Around the table. Dasturxon atrofida.( В вокруг стол)
We have four meals a day. They are: breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, and supper. I have breakfast at home at half past seven o'clock. It is usually a sandwich and a cup of coffee or tea. I don't like cereals or eggs for breakfast.
For lunch I have soup, meat, chicken or fish with vegetables and drink tea or eat some fruit. As a rule I have cookies and juice or milk. I usually have lunch and snack at school.
For dinner I prefer pancakes or spaghetti with cheese. Sometimes I have yoghurt or an ice cream for supper. Tea is the third meal of the day. It is between 4 or 5 o’clock, the so- called 5 o’clock tea. On the table there is tea, milk or cream, sugar, bread and butter, cakes and jam.
Dinner is the fourth meal of the day. The usual time is about 7 o’clock, and all the members of the family sit down together. Dinner usually consists of soup, fish or meat with vegetables- potatoes, green beans, carrot and cabbage, sweet pudding, fruit salad, ice- cream or cheese biscuits. T hen after a talk We have tea. Greater parts of the people have dinner in the middle of the day instead of lunch. We have tea a little later- between 5 and 6 o’clock and then in the evening before going to bed, we have supper.

For breakfast English people mostly have porridge or corn flakes with milk or cream and sugar, bacon and eggs, marmalade with buttered toast and tea or coffee. For a change they can have a boiled egg, cold ham or fish. English people generally have lunch about one o'clock. At lunchtime in London restaurant one usually finds a mutton chop, or steak and chips, or cold meat, or fish with potatoes anti salad, then a pudding or fruits to follow. Afternoon tea can hardly be called a meal. It is a substantial meal only in well-to-do families. It is between five and six o'clock. It is rather a sociable sort of thing, as friends often come in then for a chat while they have their cup o' tea, cake or biscuit. In some houses dinner is the biggest meal of the day. But in majority о English homes the midday meal is the chief one of the day, and in the evening there is usually a much simpler supper — an omelets, or sausages, sometimes bacon and eggs and sometimes just bread and cheese, a cup of coffee or cocoa and fruits.
