There are four seasons in a year: winter, spring, summer, autumn. Winter is the coldest season of the year. Winter days are the shortest, winter nights are the longest. It is cold and frosty in winter. The trees are bare. Winter is white. There is much snow on the ground. There is ice on the rivers and lakes.

Children like winter. They can ski, skate and play snowballs with their friends. It’s a pleasure to sledge down a hill. Winter is a hard time for birds and animals. They are cold and hungry in winter. Children help them. They can give them bread, corn and fruit.

It's getting warmer in spring. Mare h, April and May are spring months. The weather is often sunny in spring. The snow melts and it is wet outside. There are a lot of streams and puddles in the streets and it’s fun to watch them. Birds come back in spring and sing their songs.

Summer is the hottest season of the year. June. July and August are summer months. The days are long in summer and the nights are short. People like summer because they can be outdoors all day long. Summer is beautiful. The trees are green; there are many flowers in the parks and forests.

Summer is over in September. September, October and November are autumn months. It is getting cold in autumn, but it is beautiful it is green, yellow, orange, brown and red. The leaves are falling from trees. They cover the ground like a beautiful carpet. Autumn is a harvest time. There are many fruit and vegetables. The weather is not fine in autumn. It is often cold and cloudy. Sometimes it rains. Birds fly away because they have nothing to eat.
