Evaluation of the activity 
The overall aim of speaking fluency development seemed to be fulfilled, but with the lowest 
success rate from all the activities performed. It must be acknowledged that the biggest 
drawback of this activity was the use of mother tongue in quite a large extent. The reason for 
this was the fact that students were divided into three groups and it was impossible to watch 
over all the groups at once. Students had to be reminded to use English language several times 
during the lesson, which often helped, but every time the teacher stopped paying attention, it 
could be heard that there was a tendency to switch back to mother tongue. On the other hand, 
students discussed various aspects of advertisements related to tourism and travel agencies and 
offered a wide range of suggestions on this topic.
The activity was perceived as quite motivating, since students were put to roles of travel agency 
owners and could use their creativity and imagination as well as relevant vocabulary in real-life 
situation of designing an advertisement. Working on a common motto for a travel agency turned 
out to be very motivating among the students, on the other hand, in some groups students had 
problems with reaching final decision concerning the motto. By the way of discussion and 
making suggestions, students also worked on the improvement of their self-confidence skills. 
Often, a heated debate could be heard among the students, as well as opinion clash and further 
discussion. As it was mentioned before, the biggest problem during these discussions was the 
use of mother tongue. 
After this activity students had activated vocabulary related to advertising in tourism industry 
as well as they had been given an opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in this field 
in a real-life situation. 
As for the atmosphere in the lesson, students were highly involved in participating in the 
activity, a great number of various creative ideas and opinions was suggested and students 
seemed to enjoy the lesson.
