9.2.2. Dispatch & Delay Recording
The dispatch particulars along with the E - Way Bill (EWB) details are recorded in the system.
Advance shipment alerts are sent no sooner a direct shipment leaves the factory gates.
The consignment is then tracked using the GPS software to ensure the movement of the vehicle is as
per the planned transit time. The time to destination (ETA- Expected Time of Arrival) is fed in the
system, and any abnormal delays, alerts are sent to all stakeholders.

Summary
This chapter discussed the need for consignment consolidation.
The chapter explains how a truck schedule is planned, and a dispatch schedule is affected. The various
factors typically considered for consignment consolidation like origin, destination, order priority,
volume, weight FTL/LTL, etc., were explained. The chapter also discusses as to how a loading plan is
made and how lashing and cushioning is to be done after the planned cargo is loaded. The importance
of communicating the consolidation & loading plan to all stakeholders was emphasized. We saw the
process of Inspecting the lashing, replacement of damaged goods during handling and quarantine of
damaged goods.
Lastly, we saw the process of recording of dispatch particulars and delay details in the ERP System
