Justification 
The homework will be completed most quickly if all of the questions are completed in the 
shortest time from the range given. 
The total time to answer the questions is 20 x 3 + 10 x 5 = 110 minutes. She will always 
finish a question exactly on 30 minutes of work, so will take a total of three breaks. 
She will finish 155 minutes after 19:00, which is 21:35.

Sakina has been set 30 questions to answer for her Maths homework. Each of the first 20 
questions will take between 3 and 5 minutes to answer and the final 10 questions will take 
between 5 and 10 minutes each. 
Sakina starts her homework at 19:00 and will take a break of 15 minutes after every 30 minutes 
of work. She will always complete any question that she is working on at the end of the 30 
minutes before taking the break. 
What is the earliest time that she might complete the homework?
