Jess, Kamilla, Lucy, and Max are seated around a table on a train. Two are facing forward (in 
the direction of travel) and two facing back. Two have window seats and the other have two 
aisle seats.
I know that: 
Jess is sitting diagonally opposite Lucy; 
Max is facing forward; 
Kamilla is next to Jess. 
Which of the following do I also know? 
A 
Lucy is travelling backwards.

Lucy has a window seat.

Kamilla has an aisle seat.

Jess is sitting opposite Max.

Justification 
We know that Jess is sitting diagonally opposite Lucy. We also know that Kamilla is sitting 
next to Jess – this means that Lucy must be sitting next to Max. We don’t know who has the 
window seats or who has the aisle seats, but we know that Jess must be seated opposite 
Max.
