Sociolinguistic competence

Forming skills and abilities in – constructing coherent, cohesive and logical utterances of various functional styles in oral and written speech based on the understanding of various text types while reading and listening; the choice of language forms, their use and modification in accordance with the discourse context related to various communicative settings based on the content areas defined for each grade of primary education.

Discourse competence

Forming skills and abilities in – recognition of the peculiarities of discourses by their genre (songs, poems, rhymes, riddles, fairy tales, academic texts, forms, instructions to games and etc.) related to various communicative settings based on the content areas defined for each grade of primary education.





Strategic competence

Forming skills and abilities in – constructing the speech logically, coherently and persuasively, defining goals and achieving them through knowledge of language structural elements necessary for communication in FL, and their use in written and verbal communication settings; set of speech formulas required for communication in FL; national-cultural peculiarities of language and speech phenomena; verbal means of compensation in case of communicative difficulties in the process of communication in FL; non-verbal elements of communicative behaviour of native speakers, which are used for filling in the lacunas of linguistic, pragmatic and sociocultural character related to various communicative settings based on the content areas defined for each grade of beginner level of learning.
