At the restaurant

Sometimes we like to go to a restaurant to have dinner. When we come to a restaurant we take off our warm clothes in the cloakroom.
After that we come into the hall. Usually, there are free tables there. We take our seats at the table. At once a waiter or a waitress comes. She gives us a menu. We can hear good light music at a good restaurant.
As usual a menu is a bright folder with names of courses, their descriptions and their prices. The courses are divided into appetizers, first courses and second courses, desserts and, finally, drinks.
Appetizers are salads or special meals. First courses are light soups with some vegetables and meat. Second courses are fried potatoes or meat or fish. Desserts are sweets like cakes, ice cream, puddings and so on.
What can we say about drinks? There are two kinds of drinks in the world. They are called soft drinks and hard drinks. Soft drinks are juice, lemonade, mineral water, and other carbonated beverages.
So, when we looked through the menu we should choose the meals and make an order. The waitress should check our order. First, we have salads and soft drinks on our table. There are spoons and knives on the right of the plates. Forks are always on the left of the plates. There should be enough napkins on the table. And there are towels in good restaurants.
We don’t come to restaurant just to eat. We come to take pleasure, to talk, to rest of a busy day. After we have eaten the meals of the first and second courses we start to eat desserts. We usually order a glass of juice or lemonade. Sometimes we may order a bottle of red or white wine, light or dark beer. Rarely we order hard drinks like scotch, vodka or whiskey. They are rather expensive. We drink these drinks with tonics.
After we finished, the waitress gives us a bill. We should check the price of the meals in the bill. We pay money and leave the restaurant.

About seasons

There are four seasons in the year. They are autumn, winter, spring and summer.
Winter is the coldest season in the year. December, January and February are winter months. It often rains and snows in December. The sky is often covered with gray clouds. We have a New Year Holiday in winter. New Year begins in January.The coldest month of winter is February.
When February ends, spring comes. March, April and May are spring months. It is still cool in March; it even snows in this month. But the nights become shorter and days become longer. After a while it becomes warmer. Grass grows and becomes green. Trees bloom with flowers. Birds sing songs. In April the sky is blue with some white clouds in it. In May it’s almost hot. The sun shines brightly.
Summer begins with June. July and August are also summer months. It is always hot in summer. It seldom rains in summer. In the city it is hot and dusty; so many people prefer to go to the country for the weekends. Many people like to have their vacations in summer and go to the seaside or to the resorts. In August many fruits and vegetables ripen. Nights become a bit cooler. But it is still hot in daytime. August ends and summer ends too.
Autumn is also called the fall. It begins with the month September. The first of September is Independence Day in Uzbekistan. In autumn days become shorter, nights become longer. Leaves in the trees become yellow, red and brown. They fall down on the ground. It rains more and more often. September is not cold yet. It becomes colder in October. And it’s rainy and cold in November. After November winter comes again.
My favorite season is spring. I like spring because it’s not hot as in summer. The air is fresh and the sky is blue. The nature blooms in spring.
