At the Cinema

1. I like to go to the cinema. 2. When I have free time, I always go to see new films. 3. When I want to go to the cinema, I usually look up in the programme what films are on. 4. Then I phone my friends and we discuss what film to see. 5. We prefer feature films but also enjoy cartoons and popular science films. 6. To see a good love story, musical or detective films is a very pleasant way of spending free time. 7. There are many talented actors and actresses in our country. 8. My favorite actors are Brad Pitt and John Travolta. 9. My favorite actress is Jennifer Aniston. 10. They played the leading parts in many films and I always enjoy their superb acting. 11. The last film I saw was the screen version of the novel “Gone with the Wind” by Margaret Mitchell. 12. it’s an old film but it still enjoys great popularity. 13. There are many famous American actors in it, with Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable starring. 14. I was deeply impressed by their acting and the film itself. 15. It hasn’t lost its visual splending by the passage of time.

At the theatre

1.There are not many theatres in my town, but they are all very popular with the public. 2.I am a theatre lover too. 3.As for me, I prefer drama to all other theatres, but I like opera and musical comedy too. 4.I’ll never forget my first visit to the Opera and Ballet Theatre. 5.My friend and I wanted to see the famous ballet Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky. 6.We bought tickets in advance and came to the theatre half an hour before the show. 7.At 7 sharp the performance began. 8.From the very first minute I was deeply impressed by everything I saw on the stage. 9.The costumes were fine. 10.The dancing and music were thrilling.11.The ballet seemed to me a fairy tale. 12.I had never seen anything more wonderful. 13.My friend also enjoyed every minute of it. 14.When the curtain fell at the end of the performance there came a storm of applause. 15.It seemed that it would never end. 16.The dancers received call after call.17.They were presented with large bouquets of flowers. 18.We also applauded enthusiastically. 19.The performance was a great success.
