Translation Quality
In translating text, the translation should produce accurate and natural
translation. In order to produce accurate and good translation, there are criteria or
characteristics to assess the translation categorized as good translation or not. The
naturalness of translation or acceptability and the accuracy of meaning in
translation often become the indicator whether the translation is good or not.
1.
Accuracy
Accuracy is a term which is used in translation evaluation in which source text
and target language are equivalent or not. The translation is accurate when the
content or message between them is the same. The translation
is accurate if the
source text has the same meaning and message with the target text. Therefore, the
changing, adding and reducing meaning of original text should be avoided

(Nababan, et. al 2012:44). According to Shuttleworth and Cowie (in Anari and
Bouali 2009:80), accuracy is a term used in translation evaluation to refer to the
degree of correspondence between the translated and original text. In conclusion,
accuracy is the degree to which the translation conforms to the original text.
Nababan et. all (2012: 50) also proposes the instrument for assessing accuracy.
