For the purpose of summarizing the data of the first lecture, the teacher gives a set of questions concerning the fundamentals of translation theory (definition of translation, relation of translation with linguistics, historical background, the aim and objectives, basic problems, main trends in translation studies, types of translation);	Answers the questions
	1.3. Presents the theme of the lecture, the main discussion points (the plan of lecture), the aim and objectives of the training activity.	Writes the theme of the lecture and the main discussion points
II-stage Basic (50 minutes)	2.1. For the purpose of clarifying the central problem of the lecture the teacher gives a series of questions: What do you understand by the notion “equivalence”? What do you understand by the notion “translation equivalence”? What other terms concerned with the notion “equivalence” do you know? The teacher makes comments on the students’ answers.	Answers the questions, expresses opinions
	2.2. Presents the slide showing the definition of the notion “equivalence” (Slide 1); makes comments on the definition and summarizes the main points.	Studies the definitions given in the Slide 1, makes notes in the copy-book and expresses ideas on the nature of each definition.
	2.3. Presents a brief data on the various approaches to the problem of equivalence in translation studies;	Listens, writes, expresses opinions
	2.4. Describes the types and levels of equivalence in translation (formal, semantic, situational, pragmatic); makes comments on the distinctive features of types and levels of equivalence.	Listens, writes, expresses opinions
	2.5 Presents the information on the degrees of lexical correspondences in translation: 1) complete correspondences; 2) partial correspondences; 3) the absence of correspondences);	Listens, writes, expresses opinions
	2.6 Presents the general information concerned with the translation of international and pseudo-international words; describes the main two types of pseudo-international words (translator’s false friends) ;	Listens, writes, expresses opinions

III-stage Final stage (10 minutes)	3.1. Summarizes the main points of the lecture. Gives questions about the lexico-semantic problems of translation (degrees of lexical correspondences, translators false friends, culturally marked words).	Listens, answers the questions
