II-stage Basic (50 minutes)	2.1. To clarify the central problems of the lecture the teacher asks a series of questions: What do you understand by addition of lexical units in translation? What do you know about the cases of omission of lexical units in the translating process? The teacher comments on the students’ answers.	Answers the questions, expresses opinions
	2.2. Makes comments on the types of transformations	Listens, writes expresses ideas on the nature of each definition
	2.3. Presents the general data on the addition (supplementation) as a type of lexical transformation;	Listens, writes, expresses opinions
	2.4. Describes the groups of lexical units requiring the use of addition in the translating process; makes comments on their specific features;	Listens, writes, expresses opinions
	2.5 Gives the definition of omission as a type of lexical transformation;	Writes, listens, expresses opinions
	2.6 Describes the main cases illustrating the use of omissions in translation; makes comments on the distinctive features of omission at the lexical level;	Listens, writes, expresses opinions
III-stage Final stage (10 minutes)	3.1. Summarizes the main points of the lecture. Gives questions about the basic types of lexical transformation.	Listens, answers the questions
	3.2. Analyzes and evaluates the students’ activities in the lecture	Listens.
	3.3. Gives the questions for self-study (Appendix 1).	Writes down the questions.
