"LEXICOGRAPHICAL ENGLISH CULTURE REFLECTED IN THE 
DICTIONARIES OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE."

Interest in the theoretical problem of "Dictionary and Culture", which is 
central in this work due to the characteristic of our time appeal to the reporting of 
the national cultural space in the dictionary works, identifying cultural 
foundations dictionary. From the perspective of intercultural communication 
dictionary is a means of reflection of a society's culture, its national uniqueness, 
features of his life and work. It should also be noted growing interest in the 
linguistic environment to the problems of reflection and fixation of culture in 
cultural references of different types. These dictionaries lexicographical tools are 
not only different aspects of the culture, but also reflects the history of the 
language. 
Thus, the relevance of this dissertation research is determined by the 
following factors: 
- Culture trends of modern lexicography, which are characterized by the 
emergence of new types of dictionaries culture; 
- The need for theoretical understanding of culture and the creation of 
dictionaries typology dictionaries culture; 
- The need for dictionaries culture capable of preventing communication 
failures in intercultural communication. 
The extent of a problem. Assessing the level of research of a problem, it 
should be noted that the question about the type of vocabulary, one of the most 
important in the theory and practice of lexicography, constantly raised by

particularly significant contribution to the development of this problem

there is a need to develop a typology of dictionaries culture that would 
conclusively and consistently compiled and classified the existing and potential 
data dictionaries.
The dialogic nature of the culture due to the semiotic nature of the 
representation of knowledge, as a sign enables encode and represent the cultural 
significance and, as a consequence, be transported in time and space, which 
ensures the continuity of the existence of society. Therefore, culture is addressed 
to a person and is perceived by the person does not exist. Thus, the scientific 
novelty of this study lies in the fact that for the first time 
- Developed a typology of English dictionaries culture on the basis of the law of

- Revealed distinctive features inherent in certain types of dictionaries.

basis of this theory, the most valuable for the full language proficiency as a
