Formative Assessment is generally carried out throughout lectures, seminars and self study tasks. It also referred to as "educative assessment," is used to aid learning.Formative Assessment is to be conducted by a lecturer and a seminar teacher, providing feedback on a student's work and it would not necessarily be used for grading purposes.Formative Assessment is supposed to be done at each lecture, seminar and for each self study task. Assessment criteria for each lesson should be created by the lecturer or seminar teacher but according to parameters which are mentioned in the course curriculum.
SummativeAssessment - is carried out in the middle of each semester and at the end of a course or self study project. SummativeAssessmentis used to assign students a course grade. It is evaluative: criterion-referenced, norm-referenced. It is conducted in a formal format according to the academic requirements presented inthe course curriculum. SummativeAssessment is performedthree times for the whole academic year: Midterm-I (week 10of the fall semester), Midterm-II (week 17 of the spring semester), Final (week 20 of the spring semester).
Self Study Assessment features are presented in special STUDENTS’ SELF STUDY methodical recommendations.

Formative assessment for the lecture course does not include into the program.


MIDTERM ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
Tasks 1. Theory. 10 points
Excellent - 9-10 – it is for detailed explanation of the matter question by using proper scientific terminology
Good – 7-8 – it is for good explanation but missing 1-2 key issues of the matter question and using proper scientific terminology not every time
Satisfactory - 5-6it is for poor explanation but missing 3-4 key issues of the matter question and without proper using of scientific terminology
